Overall Mandate
The Puntland Statistics Department is tasked with leading and coordinating the collection, compilation, processing, production, and dissemination of official statistics for the government of Puntland. These efforts support evidence-based policy and program planning, measure progress, and uphold accountability, transparency, and efficient resource utilization.
Serving as the custodian of official statistics for the State of Puntland, the department ensures decision-makers, development partners, and citizens have access to reliable information.
Mission Statement
To lead, coordinate, and supervise the collection, compilation, processing, interpretation, and dissemination of official statistics to inform and promote evidence-based policy formulation, program planning and monitoring, and decision-making processes. We produce a comprehensive set of integrated statistics and provide high-quality information for evidence-based decisions.
